Telxon Order Policy

TELXON 610 - CUSTOMER
ORDERS MUST BE SENT BY 11:00 A.M. CST ON YOUR ORDER DAY
ENTERING AN ORDER – (Remember to erase previous order)
  1. To begin entering an order, press the ON/OFF key.
  2. Select Menu by pressing the MENU key.
  3. Press YES to enter data for orders.
  4. If using the key pad enter an item number then press ENTER. If using the wand, scan a bar code.
  5. Enter quantity then press the ENTER key. If scanning, the bar code can be scanned more than once to indicate multiples.
  6. Enter next item number, or press END.
  7. If END is pressed, press YES to end the order.
  8. Press NO for no message. Press YES to send a message. If YES is pressed a message must be keyed in then press the ENTER key.
  9. Press EXIT to end the session.
SEND AN ORDER
  1. Press SEND from the main display.
    • Telxon will then display “SEND DATA FOR ORDERS? YES/NO”
  2. Press YES to send data for orders.
    • Telxon will then display “READY TO SEND?”
  3. Dial dataline number.

  4. Listen for a high-pitched data tone and at the end of the tone you will hear a voice that says ‘Ready for Transmission’.
  5. Place speaker on back of telxon unit to telephone mouthpiece and press YES to send order.
  6. At the end of transmission you’ll hear the data tone again and at the end of tone you’ll hear, ‘Transmission successful’ followed by your call number and the number of lines in your order, OR you’ll hear, ‘Transmission failed’ followed by your call number. If your transmission failed please try again.
  7. Once you have received a successful transmission and before you transmit another order, you have to ERASE the order that’s in the telxon unit, otherwise you will add to the one that’s already in the telxon.
ERASE AN ORDER
  1. Press ERASE.
    • Telxon will then display “ERASE DATA FOR ORDERS? YES/NO”
  2. Press YES to erase order.
    • Telxon will then display “ERASE ARE YOU SURE?”
  3. Press YES again. Order is erased.
PROBLEMS
  • Transmission error on screen of Telxon
    • Press ENTER. or,
    • Hold down SP and ENTER simultaneously
  • UM: is on screen of Telxon
    • Press SP button then ENTER. or,
    • Fill up all spaces
  • Trouble getting a good transmission
    1. Cordless or cell phones rarely work
    2. Telxon up to mouthpiece -- not earpiece
    3. Try dialing a different number
